3 hour pose every other week during term time from 7-10pm
(April 26th |May 10th | May 24th | June 7th | June 21st |July 5th)
Wednesday evening Life drawing sessions run every other Week during term time. They alternate weekly with the Portrait Sessions so you why not take advantage of Northern Realist’s purpose built studio and great lighting set up? It’s unusual to find poses if this length in most life drawing sessions and they allow you to take your work much further than a quick sketch. This means that painting is a practical possibility and you have plenty of choice as to what medium you’d like to work in or experiment with.
There’s no need to book, just turn up. As with all the courses workshops and sessions, easels & drawing boards are provided, just bring along whatever you want to work with. The Sessions usually start with a few very short poses as a warm up before we start on one pose for the rest of the evening. The studio is open from 6:30pm if you want to arrive early to get set up. That way you can start the session in the right frame of mind and get the most out of the evening.
Wednesday evening Life Drawing Sessions are not taught although there is always friendly advice on hand should you like a bit of help or feedback. One of the goals of Northern Realist is to create a hub of like minded artists and the open drawing sessions offer a great way to do this. You can meet like minded artists, see different techniques being used and push your own abilities. Developing your drawing and painting abilities takes time and work, Wednesdays represent a great opportunity to put what you leant into practice what you learn on the Northern Realist courses or try your own thing while learning from other artists.
